Mary Lou was known for her sassy character and always being there for her friends and family. She took pride in having family dinners on Sunday and all were welcome – friends and family. Mary Lou helped raise numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her and Elmer were devoted to family and took pride in raising their great grandson, Christian.

In January 2021 Mary Lou asked to move to the Lake Mills Nursing home to be closer to her great-grandaughter Trisity who worked there. Trisity was able to help care for Mary Lou and get even closer over the next 6 months. The Lake Mills Care Center staff took great care of Mary Lou, and the family thanks them all.

Mary Lou passed away on Monday June 7, 2021 at the Lake Mills Care Center. Her close family were there by her side to comfort her. Family members were there providing end of life comfort and care because Mary Lou expressed wishes of not wanting to be alone – and she was not.

Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down a road and back again
Your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidant.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
Well, you would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say.
Thank you for being a friend.
