Peggy A. Herring, 48, dies Friday morning

Peggy A. Herring, 48, Washington, died Feb. 12, 1999, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington following a brief illness.

Funeral services are set for Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Dennis Martin officiating. Calling hours will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Family visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday. There will be a prayer service followed by a rosary at 8 p.m. Monday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Peggy a. Herring was born Oct. 15, 1950, in Mason City to Harlan and Carol (Fox) Nuehring.

She graduated from Klemme High School and attended AIB in Des Moines.

On May 27, 1978, she married Daniel W. Herring in Des Moines.

She was employed at the Iowa Des Moines national Bank in Des Moines and the United State Bank in Cedar Rapids. She lived in Washington for the past 10 years.

She was a member of the Washington Golf and Country Club, and also enjoyed sewing, reading an working in her flower garden.

Mrs. Herring was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Washington.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel W. Herring of Washington; one son, Jason Herring of Washington; one daughter, Sarah Herring of Washington; her father, Harlan and wife Ione Nuehring of Mason City; her mother, Carol and husband Chris Schulz of Corwith; two sisters, Pat Nuehring of Kansas City, Kan., and Donna Tiedeman and husband Doug of Mason City; seven nieces and nephews; mother and father-in-law, Clyde and Alice Herring of Chariton; two brothers-in-law, Mike Herring and wife Donna of Lisbon and David Herring and wife Coreen of Carlisle; and one sister-in-law, Julie Kordick and husband Jim of St. Charles.

Peggy A. Herring, 48, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Washington County Hospital after a heart attack. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, St. James Catholic Church, by the Rev. Dennis Martin.

Burial: Elm Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at Jones Eden Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 7 to 8:30 and a rosary will be recited after an 8 p.m. prayer service.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel; a son, Jason, and a daughter, Sarah Herring, both of Washington; her father, Harlan Nuehring of Mason City; her mother, Carol Schulz of Corwith; and two sisters, Pat Nuehring of Kansas City, Kan., and Donna Tiedeman of Mason City.
