Iris Mae Snyder of Bentley Village, Naples Fla., died on Dec. 5, 2021. She had been a resident of Florida since 1986, living in Bonita Bay, Bonita Springs, Fla., for most of those years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ella Rosendahl. Born in Garner, Iowa, Nov. 24, 1931, she attended schools in Klemme, Iowa, graduating in 1949. She attended the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing, graduating in 1952. She later received an Associate Arts degree in Interior Design from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, Fla., where she attended the Great Banquet, and was a Stephen Minister, as well as a proud member of the "Banner Committee." In addition, Iris was also a 50-plus member First Presbyterian Church of Marion, Iowa.

She was an accomplished seamstress, a long-term member of P.E.O. and OOP organizations, enjoyed golf (3 aces!). bridge, traveling,
volunteering and life. Iris' last experience in nursing was at Sedlacek Treatment Center, a substance abuse center, which she described as a "total life changer." Later, she owned a Decorating Den franchise. Her Christian faith, family and friends were her real focus in life. Her motto for life was, "Christ on the solid rock I stand."

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Dick, and their two children, Debra Polk of Bonita Springs and John Snyder of Decorah, Iowa. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Candice Lehew, Lauren Wilson and Trevor Polk and wife Meghan; seven great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Enoch, Adeline, Solomon, Charlotte, Emma and Declan; and siblings, Ardell Rosendahl, Ione Muller and Roselea, and husband John Smith.

A memorial service is planned for First Presbyterian Church in Bonita Springs, Fla., Dec. 28, 2021.
