Goodell -- Marvin Dennis Sandry, 76, longtime resident of Goodell, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at the West View Care Center in Britt. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Andrews Funeral Home, 516 First St. S.E., Belmond. The Rev. Mike Shaffer will be officiating. Burial will be at the Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell. Visitation will be on Monday, April 6, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m. and continue one hour prior to the services at the funeral on Tuesday.

Marvin was born on Aug. 18, 1938, to William and Tena (Gruis) Sandry. Marvin graduated from Klemme School in 1957, he then joined the army reserves for two years following high school. Marvin lived in Goodell for much of his life, he worked at Winnebago, and Eaton for many years before retiring. Marvin enjoyed fishing, telling stories, spending time with his son Michael and playing with his grandchildren. He always looked forward to a nice homemade meal by his mother Tena, often going out on Sundays for dinner. Marvin was very handy, there wasn't much that he couldn't fix, and he loved tinkering around trying to make something work right. He enjoyed when Michael was younger taking yearly fishing trips to Pierre, South Dakota.

Marvin is survived by one son Michael (Christine) Sandry of Thornton; two grandchildren Eric and Rachel Sandry of Thornton; two brothers Donald Sandry of Goodell, and Calvin (Lorene) Sandry of Davenport; stepchildren Brenda (Greg) Reicherts of Bondurant, Deb (Dave) Beenen of Ankeny, Stephanie (Randy) Stoen of Highlandville, Douglas Triggs of Des Moines, and many nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents William and Tena Sandry, his sister Sharon Sandry, and his cat Otis.
