Obituary

Harold John Swalve was born August 4th, 1923, on a farm in Twin Lake Township, the youngest of three children born to his parents, John and Wilhelmina Sandersfeld Swalve.

He attended the rural school near his home and continued his studies in the Klemme High School, graduating in 1941. He was quick and bright in his school work.

He was baptized, as an infant, in the Klemme Evangelical and Reformed Church, and after completing his Bible School training, became a member of this church by confirmation.

In March 1946, at the age of 23, Harold Swalve and Lois Sorenson were married in the Methodist Church at Crystal Lake, Iowa.

They commenced housekeeping on a farm east of Klemme, then for a year they farmed near Clear Lake, Iowa, and now for three years they have been living in Clear Lake, where Harold was employed as a cement finisher in construction work.

This home was blessed with two sons; Douglas 3 years old in April and Dennis, 1 year old in June.

And now, the story of Harold's life. which commenced so beautifully, was brought to a rude and abrupt close on August 15th, 1950, after a brief illness with virus pneumonia.

Even though Harold died at the age of 27 years, some of his good traits will be perpetuated in the lives of his two sons and he will continue to live in the hearts of his friends and near ones.

He leaves of his immediate family:
His wife Lois,
His two sons, Douglas and Dennis
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Swalve. Clear Lake, Iowa;
One sister, Mrs. Wilma Odegaard, Clear Lake, Iowa;
One brother, Raymond Swalve, Garner, Iowa.
And a host of more distant relatives and friends.
