Services for Silvanus Wacker, 92, of Garner who died Sunday, May 17, 1998, at his home southeast of Garner, will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at the Highway Chapel of the Foursquare Church in Forest City with Pastor James C. Haake and Pastor David Hawbaker officiating.

Mrs. Harold Hays, organist, will accompany Mrs. Mark Wacker, soloist.

Honorary bearer will be Ernie Woiwod.

Casket bearers will be Frederick Bell, Norman Henschen, Carl Henschen, Ronald Woiwod, Herman Goll and David Wittenberg.

Burial will be in Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Garner.

Silvanus Paul Wacker, the son of Fred and Anna (Ax) Wacker, was born March 13, 1906, on the home farm southeast of Garner. He attended the rural schools of Ell Township and graduated from Klemme High School. He farmed with his parents on the home farm.

November 28, 1952, he married Mary Ann Witterburg at Garner. They made their home southeast of Garner all their married life. He enjoyed his family, farming and church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Wacker of Garner; 10 children, Anita Wilson and husband Michael, of Goldendale, WA; Dan Wacker of Garner; Joanna Johns and husband Mark, of Eden Prairie, MN; Fred Wacker of Garner; Anna Meyer and husband Tory, of Bloomington, MN; Mark Wacker and wife Debi, of Cedar Falls; Paul Wacker of Ames; Lois Moore and husband Cade, of Eden Prairie, MN; Ruth Tagatz and husband Paul, of Stewertville, MN; and John Wacker and wife Cindy, of Garner; 12 grandchildren; Samantha Wilson, Justin Wilson, Katie Johns, Anne Johns, Sara Johns, Jessica Meyer, Kasey Wacker, Kaley Wacker, Kourtney Wacker, Andy Moore, Lauren Moore, and Rochelle Tagatz; a sister, Emma Wacker of Garner; several nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Reuben Wacker and Herman Wacker; and two sisters, Jane Wacker and Ruby Wacker.
