Mary Jean Nelson

Ringsted - Funeral services for Mary Jean (Mrs. Norman) Nelson, 56, of Ringsted will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ringsted with the Pastor Larry Tanlow officiating. Interment will be in Ringsted Memorial Cemetery. Mary Jean Nelson died Sunday, March 31st at her farm home near Ringsted.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Ringsted from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday.

After her birth in Sioux City, she was chosen by her parents, Paul and Mary Beardsley, the family lived in Sloan, IA. until they moved to Missouri where Mary graduated from High School in Excelsior Springs. After College at Central Missouri St. College in Warrensburg, Missouri, she taught High School English in Klemme, Ia. and then in Ringsted. She met and married Norman E. Nelson at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on August 3rd 1957. The couple moved to Cairo, MO where they lived for a short time before returning to Ringsted in 1966 where they have lived since.

Survivors include her Husband, Norman E. Nelson. Three daughters; Mrs. Ken (Joleen Elizabeth) Gilbert of Norwalk, OH., Mrs. Shawn (Diane Lisa) Smith of Ringsted and Gail Louise Nelson of Ringsted. Two grandchildren; Amy Michelle Smith of Ringsted and Lisa Christine Smith of Ringsted, and one brother, James A. Beardsley of Hot Springs, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
