- Mrs. Esther E. Martin, 77, nee Belken, a resident of
Mount Prospect for 23 years, died Thursday in Northwest Community
Hospital, Arlington Heights. Born in Iowa, Feb. 7, 1897, she was a retired
principal of Busse School in Mount Prospect, and was a former teacher at
the Fairview School in Mount Prospect.
Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. today in St. Raymond Catholic School,
300 S. Elmhurst Rd., Mount Prospect. Burial will be in All Saints
Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, survivors include a daughter,
Mrs. Mary Therese (William Sr.) Obal of Arlington Heights; three
grandchildren, Mrs. Mary Anne (Donald) Clemens of Peoria, William Jr. and
Ellen Esther Obal, both of Arlington Heights; two brothers, George D. and
Maurice J, Belken, both of Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Arloene Trebbien of
California.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral
Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights.
