Bonnie Tabat

1904 - 1993

 
Bonnie Tabat, 88, of Boston, Mass., died of a heart ailment Wednesday at her daughter's home there. The body will be cremated, with memorial services and burial of the cremains at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines this summer.

Mrs. Tabat was born in Moberly, MO., and moved to Des Moines as a child. She taught at Latimer, Belmond, Klemme and Boone and returned to Des Moines from Reinbeck in 1946. She retired from office work for Younkers department stores and lived at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center in Johnston for eight years until moving to Boston in September. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines.

Survivors include her daughter, Billie Gillespie of Boston; a sister, Virginia Stephenson of Des Moines; and a grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Bishop Drumm Foundation. Griffin Funeral Home in Cambridge, Mass., is handling arrangements.
