Esther Fischer, 70

Esther May Bolles Fischer, 70, died on Sunday, May 9, 1993 at her home in Iowa Falls from natural causes.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Iowa Falls.

Rev. Phillip F. Schmitt will officiate, with interment in St. Mark's Cemetery at Iowa Falls. Linn's Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is handling services. Memorials may be directed to the family, c/o Mike Fischer, 1700 River Street, Iowa Falls, 50126.

Esther May Bolles Fischer was born January 29, 1923 at New Providence to Dayton Chatfield and Rachel Thompson Bolles. She attended Radcliffe High School, graduating in 1940. She attended Ellsworth Junior College in Iowa Falls, receiving an associate of teaching degree. She had done student teaching at Iowa Falls Community schools and had taught at Klemme and Hubbard schools.

She was married to Michael Carl Fischer on April 23, 1945 in Great Neck, New York. She was president of the Iowa Falls Garden Club and a member of the Iowa Falls American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church and was a communion minister.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and her husband, Melva and Floyd Olson; one brother, Phillip Bolles; one sister-in-law, Donna Bolles; and one grandson, David Fischer.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Carol Meinecke and her husband, Douglas of Cresco, Suzy Ryder and her husband, Thomas, of Bosie, Idaho; six sons, Michael Fischer Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; Thomas Fischer and his wife, Judi, of York, Pennsylvania; Frank Fischer and his wife, Diane of Syacuse, New York; Joseph Fischer and his betroved, Cindy Smith of Cedar Rapids; Jerry Fischer and his wife, Michelle, Hiawatha, Robert Fischer and his wife, Amie of Manchester; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Bolles and Dayton C. Bolles, both of Radcliffe.

Iowa Falls - Esther May Bolles Fischer, 70, of Iowa Falls died at her home Sunday, May 9, of natural causes.

Survivors include her husband, Michael; six sons, Michael Jr., of Kansas City, Mo., Thomas of York, Pa., Frank of Syracuse, N.Y., Joseph of Cedar Rapids, Jerry of Hiawatha, and Robert of Manchester; two daughters, Carol Meinecke of Cresco and Suzy Ryder of Boise, Idaho; two brothers, Kenneth and Dayton Bolles of Radcliffe; and 16 grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a sister, Melva Olson; a brother, Phillip Bolles; and a grandson.

Services will be at 10:30 .m. Tuesday at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Iowa Falls, with burial in the church cemetery; friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today at Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m.; there will also be a 7 p.m. rosary and 7:30 p.m. Scripture service.

Mrs. Fischer received her associate of teaching degree from Ellsworth Junior College, Iowa Falls, and had taught at Iowa Falls, Klemme and Hubbard schools.
