Margaret Costello Smith

Mrs. William J. Smith, 76, Formerly of Goodell, Died Monday, Oct. 28

Goodell - Funeral services for Mrs. William J. Smith, 76, were held in the St. Patrick's Catholic church at Clear Lake at 9 o'clock last
Wednesday with the Rev. J. J. Buzynski officiating.

Margaret Costello Smith, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Costello, was born at Rockford, Ill. She came with her parents, made her home on a farm north of Goodell for many years. After finishing her education she became a school teacher and was successful in this work for several years. During her summer vacations she clerked in the Ahrenkiel general store.

She was married to Wm. Smith of Forest City on Sept. 22, 1920. They made their home at Forest City until nine years ago when they
purchased a home and moved to Clear Lake.

Mr. Smith preceded her in death on July 21, 1940.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her two sisters, Mrs. John Dominy and Kate Costello and one brother, John Costello, all of Goodell.

Burial was made in a Forest City cemetery.
