Paul Grange

Mason City - Paul Grange, 95, of 215 S. Vermont Ave., died Tuesday (Feb. 6, 1990) at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Mason City, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 209 Second St. N.E., with the Rev. Paul Boostrom of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Klemme Cemetery.

Visitation is after 3 p.m. today and until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

A flag folding ceremony will be performed at the cemetery by Adam Schaeffer Post 625 of the American Legion.

Memorials may be given to the Paul Grange Memorial Fund.

Mr. Grange was born Oct. 21, 1894, in Ruthven, to Simon S. and Amelia (Yager) Grange.

He worked for the Northern Lumber Company for 45 years as manager in Estherville, Klemme and Mason City. He was manager in Klemme for 27 years, where he also served as mayor for some time. In 1939 he was transferred to Mason City as manager of the Mason City Northern Lumber Company.

He was married to Mabel "Peg" French on Sept. 29, 1959, in Mason City. He retired from the lumber business in 1960. They wintered in Florida for many years. He is a veteran of World War I.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Mason City, and an over 50-year member of Harding Lodge 649 A.F and A.M. of Mason City and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel "Peg" of Mason City; one stepdaughter, Mrs. E. Warren (Wanda) Brown, Mason City; one stepson, Donald L. Jones, El Paso, Texas; three step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one son, one daughter, four brothers and two sisters.
