Rev. Hilmer J. Hafner

Larrabee, Iowa -- Rev. Hilmer J. Hafner, 70, of Denison, Iowa, formerly of Larrabee, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kiron, Iowa. Graveside services and burial will be 2:30 p.m. Monday in Cedar Cemetery at Larrabee. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today at Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison.

Rev. Hafner was a former teacher at Larrabee, Iowa and as principal at Klemme and Panora, Iowa. From 1986 until retiring, he served as pastor at Faith Lutheran Church in Deloit, Iowa and St. John's Lutheran Church at Kiron.

He was united in marriage with Mary Ellen Gloss at Larrabee on December 26, 1960.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen; three children and their spouses, Todd and Debra Hafner of Glendale Heights, Ill., Lynette and Brian Licht of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Todd and Lisa Hafner of Monroe, La.; grandchildren; a brother and sisters.
