Forest City - Glen Hall, 83, of Forest City, died Friday (Sept. 29, 1989) at the Concord Care Center, Garner, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Forest City, with the Rev. Terry Port officiating. Burial will be 3:30 p.m. in the Competine Township Cemetery, near Farson.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Petersen Funeral Home, Forest City.

He was born Aug. 28, 1906, in Creston, a son of James C. and Ida O. (Prall) Hall. He began his schooling in Ottumwa and later graduated from Parsons College, Fairfield. He then attended the University of Iowa, Iowa City.

He married Ila Mae Stansberry March 3, 1946, at the Farson Baptist Church, Farson. He entered the ministry and served a number of churches in southern Iowa for 12 years. He began teaching school in 1959, and continued until retirement in 1971. They moved to Forest City in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising African violets, hybrid iris and tropical fish.

Survivors include his wife, Ila Mae, Forest City; three daughters, Mrs. Doris Peters, Marcus, Mrs. Pete (Mary Francis) Jacobs, Yorktown, VA., and Mrs. Matthew (Susan) Modeland, Forest City; one son, Charles, Lake Mills; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters and a son in infancy.
