Hazel C. Moe

1909 - 1994

 
Mrs. Hazel C. Moe, 85, Cherokee, died Feb. 13 in the Hilltop Care Center in Cherokee following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. from the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. The Rev. Gary Armstrong will officiate. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and until service time on Thursday. The remains will be cremated following the service with interment in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee.

She was born Feb. 11, 1909 at Fonda, to John A. and Emma Hout Dallenbach. She graduated from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake. She was married to M. Orion Moe on June 14 at Varina. She taught Home Economics and English in the Washta and Quimby School from 1954 until 1973. She had lived in Cherokee since 1950, prior to this living in Royal, Lake Park and Newell. She was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee and a 50 year member of Carnation Chapter #165, Order of Eastern Star in Cherokee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Nov. 30, 1988, a daughter, Joanne Moe in Sept. 1991, and two brothers.

She is survived by one son and his wife, Allyn and Deanna Moe, Adrian, Mo.; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Lillian Jensen, San Diego, Calif.
