Funeral Services Levi Neese Ventura Held Sunday P.M.
Taught School In Hancock And Adjoining Counties For Many Years

Ventura - Levi Neese was born at Webster City on Feb. 17, 1872, and died at the Park hospital, in Mason City, August 7, 1935 at the age of 62 years, 5 months and 20 days.

He grew to manhood on a farm near Webster City and with the completion of his school work at Webster City, he attended Ellsworth college and Drake university in Des Moines. He taught school for twenty-five years in the state of Iowa in Kamrar, Klemme, Meservey, Ventura and Titonka and retired eight years ago, locating in Ventura, and lived there until his death.

He was united in marriage to Edith Richardson of Webster City Aug. 19, 1908. This union was blessed with one child, Doris. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Mrs. Neese and daughter, Doris, of Ventura, one brother, Tilden Neese of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Allie Brock of Macon, Mo., and Mrs. Taylor Sargent of Falls River, Kans., and a host of friends.

He had been ailing for some time and about a week ago was taken to the hospital for treatment for infection, and was confined to his bed for a week. Doctors and friends did all they could, but death claimed him is a victim to release him from his suffering.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 o'clock at the Ward funeral home in Clear Lake. Rev. Dirks officiated. Mr. Kahrs, Mr. Green, Mrs. Halford and Ferne Thomas sang and Wm. Schow, H. A. Peterson, Ed Olson, Bert Auchampach, Ed Kahrs and J. A. Green were the pallbearers. Burial was made in the Clear Lake cemetery.

Retired School Head Succumbs
Levi Neese of Ventura Is Dead; Funeral Will Be Held Sunday

Ventura, Aug 8 - Levi Neese. superintendent of schools in various towns in North Iowa nearly 25 years, died Wednesday night at a Mason City hospital from a complication of diseases. He was superintendent here eight years, retiring two years ago.

Mr. Neese was born in 1872 in Webster City. In 1908 he was married to Edith Richardson of Webster City. He received his education at Ellsworth college in Iowa Falls, Drake at Des Moines and Iowa State at Ames.

He served as superintendent at Kamrar, Klemme, Meservey and Titonka.

Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Ward funeral home in Clear Lake. Burial will be in Memorial park cemetery in Mason City.
