Marion Penrod

Marion F. Penrod, 79, died at his home at 3:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6. Death was due to a heart attack.

Penrod was born on a farm near Troy on Nov. 9, 1878. He taught and served as a superintendent of schools in northern Iowa for many
years. On June 4, 1950, he was married to Mrs. Goldie Dowell of Gilmore City, Mo. They were married at Ottumwa and came to Keosauqua to make their home.

Besides his wife, Penrod is survived by a stepson, Hobert Dowell of Waterloo, and a sister, Mrs. John Birchmier of Pulaski.

Several brothers and sisters died previously.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Pulaski Methodist church in charge of the Rev. Roy Hoover, pastor. Burial was in Troy cemetery.
