Services for Mrs. Lucretia Seaman Powell, 74, of Los Angeles, Cal., will
be at 3 p.m. today at Lilly's Funeral home.
Mrs. Powell former Des Moines resident, died Saturday at Mercy hospital,
following eight days of illness.
For four weeks, she had been the guest of Mrs. Mattie Wells, 1304 Army
Post road, and of Mrs. Lou McLucas, 1109 Rittenhouse ave.
Born in Crawfordsville, Ind., Mrs. Powell as a young woman taught in
several Iowa communities. She was a member of Central Christian church
here and of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Powell is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Muzelle Heidenreich,
Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Afton Strom, Los Angeles, Cal.; a son, Charles L.
Powell, Honolulu, T. H.; a brother, Thomas F. Seaman, Minneapolis, Minn.;
and four grandchildren.
